Back At It!

Well it’s been over 2 1/2 years since Joey bought his house, and he still hasn’t moved in! 😬

Joey is paying for the renovations as we go, without a loan, so it always takes a while to build back up enough savings to get it going again.

The bathroom was going to cost the most, since it had to be taken all the way down to the studs, and require all new plumbing and wiring.  We also didn’t want to use cheap materials.

We ordered the onyx shower surround quite a while ago,  and that took quite a while to come in. Then we hired someone to do the plumbing and wiring. Those two things alone wiped out most of his savings again, but we’ll get there eventually. We do have a lot of the remaining pieces of the bathroom already purchased, so hopefully as soon as we can get the shower surround installed the rest of the bathroom shouldn’t take too long.

Drew doing the drywall!

Also, We tore off the old porch/wheelchair ramp. Using that wood, along with the wood from the bathroom demo, we were able to have a pretty great bonfire at Christopher’s place at the farm.

We also added a new privacy fence.

We’re now in the process of building the new deck and firepit area

Outside, we still need to add the horizontal cables to the deck, get him some decent patio furniture, and do some landscaping. We also still plan to get him new doors and paint the siding (which is the thing I’m most excited about!). That’ll all take some time, but when all is said and done, he’s going to have a pretty great house.

He’ll get moved in someday. Lol
